2016 Legende Medoc

*Sample Received*

A little French wine this evening from the Rothschild family who have been associated with the vineyards of Bordeaux since 1868. The Legende wines were created to be easy drinkers and accessible with immediate charm. The Medoc showcases the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grape varieties blended 60% and 40% respectively. This wine can be paired with a variety of dishes and mine happened to be a rustic beef dish. Great price at $24.99

From the moment you pull the cork the deep crimson purple color of the wine catches your eye and leads you to immediately thinking rich wine. The nose shows dark intense fruit with hints of red berries followed by sliced vanilla bean, spice and toasted oak.

The mouth is rich and elegant with dark cherry, blackberry, raspberry and plum. As the berries roll across your mouth, warm vanilla cream and spice compliment the fruit. The finish is long and silky. While you can pair with your favorite dish I also think you can drink on it's own. Valentines day is just around the corner and what a wonderful bottle this would be to share with that someone special. Grand vin!

Cheers
Dan
